The students who are trained under the sports activities sector of Mahawilachchiya Education Centre for Children managed to perform well in the recently held 10th Open ISKDJ Cup 2023 karate tournament held in Indoor Stadium Anuradhapura organized by World martial Arts Development Organization.
Our karate team won the runners-up trophy in this tournament. These students attend karate training sessions at our institution during their out-of-school hours.
The Mahawilachchiya Education Centre has introduced many activities to improve the sports skills of children in Mahawilachchiya and the surrounding villages. Among them, karate training is special. Through training in self-defense fighting methods, our institution hopes for the development of children as well as the formation of a disciplined society.
